Quote of the Day

"La memoria del corazón elimina los malos recuerdos y magnifica los buenos, y gracias a ese artificio, logramos sobrellevar el pasado."
--El amor en los tiempos del cólera (1985)

"The heart's memory erases bad memories and magnifies the good ones, and thanks to that artifice, we can endure the past."
Love in the Time of Cholera, by Gabriel Gacía Márquez

and yes, the past can be riddled with explosives, but that isn't what got us here, is it?
ultimately, in all the debris and fallout, we managed to find love and prevail ... although those things may make us stronger, may help us mature, move forward emotionally and spiritually, it is the love we find along the way that makes it all worth while ... and those are the things the heart chooses to magnify--it is the reason we live-- to love and find happiness ... everything else is a lesson to learn and a bad memory to shed ... courage doesn't come by watching and sitting and waiting
