is it the news again, the war in the faraway
replaces the war in here
or is it the latest lady gagagaga gig
the fanciful tracing of a fantasy against the self
the attraction to forget the self
tracking the events out there
but why not? we already know how we stack up
and where we will end up.
the everyday compromise for comfort
for many, wishful hoping thinking wanting needing
for others, the comfort of the low hanging fruit
it's easy, it's here, grab it!
forget the fear that holds you back
change jobs, house, change cars, change cities even
keep moving, moving until you reach change, fear conquered?
OK yeah, no!
but sure, stagnate in the repetition of feelings
try the same pair of shoes that didn't fit the last few time
maybe today your feet will have grown smaller
or the shoes will have turned bigger, more comfortable!
Insanity, someone once said, is doing the same thing over
and over and over and expecting different results.
But as it happens, I prefer the Chinese
"If the fool persists in his fallacy, he will eventually
become wise."
Sadly though, humans are creatures of habit ...
for better or worse ... explains why change never comes easy.
But I was going to say though, I wonder what would happen
if we listened to our heart and had the courage to act on it?
well, yeah, it's just an idle thought.
