words are not

the mistake was not using the common vocabulary
instead of a meaningless set of words
words long forgotten on the wayside during the journey.

a road had been traced,
a final destination without the need to articulate sounds.

on the journeys through the nebula
we'd learn that the interpretation of glances
was more useful than the encyclopedic vocabulary
or the common place lexicon.

I lost myself in the waves of my own words
while ignoring the harmony of your tunes.

I’m sad because of your sadness Dwelling in faraway lands; Sadness growing in your heart, Your eyes lost in distant waters.
