Nothing is ever lost

Nothing is ever really lost, or can be lost,
No birth, identity, form--no object of the world.
Nor life, nor force, nor any visible thing;
Appearance must not foil, nor shifted sphere confuse thy brain.
::Walt Whitman

Nothing is ever lost, indeed
all is transformed, sublimated, absorbed, purified
everything evolves but never lost
the energy that drives the source may shift
but it can't be dissolved nor destroyed
we may choose markers to invite a memory
but it is only our need for sequence, for the linear
the time driven scope, the suns and moons,
it is only that need which creates beginning and end
