i knew a man

I once knew a man, beautiful in his body
From his lips passion cast forth
And were his eyes the oceans waves
The light of life in him took repose

I knew a man once, the essence of a child was his treasure
And life did spring evergreen in his every move
The sensous swerve of a soul beyond this world

I once knew a man, his thoughts broke through every wall
The matter that extended beyond a time or place
The strength of his senses burning so that only love could ever contain them

I once knew a man who could not see the man I saw
A unique spirit with a force beyond the senses
The gift of life in soul, body and mind

I once knew a man, lost in his search.
