in the gay world, I've encountered the lonely souls--the energy suckers
who claim to seek meaningful ties but only seek to feed their loneliness
and these same souls will sabotage your attempts at a union
with their words, their habits and by pushing you deeper
into the abyss

and nor will they let the music play
keeping you tied to them is more important
than your happiness would be
