Realization of Destiny
Hi G*&. The Minor Arcana represents your choices and actions throughout the realization of your destiny…
The Pentacles are the big achievers who are responsible, dedicated, stubborn, perfectionists, practical, controlling, slow moving, private, good listeners, work alcoholics, and very ambitious. They want to climb in status with their careers and within society…
The Birth Of Poseidon
In Mythic Tarot and Greek Mythology, you meet Poseidon (the god of the sea, earthquakes and horses). Poseidon had three sisters (Demeter, Hestia, and Hera) and two brothers (Zeus and Hades). Poseidon was the son of Cronus, and his mother was Rhea. Later, Poseidon married Amphitrite (the goddess of the sea), but also had many lovers.
In legend, Cronus, Poseidon’s father feared that his children would overthrow him, so he swallowed his children right after they were born to protect himself. However, Cronus was not able to swallow Zeus, and when Zeus got older, he caught up with his father and made him regurgitate all the children.
It’s not exactly clear when Poseidon was reborn, but when Cronus regurgitated the children which represented the timing of Poseidon’s rebirth. In the Ace of Pentacles, Poseidon rises up from the sea holding a massive orange / yellow pentacle with both of his hands. The pentacle represents his ambition to succeed, the color orange is symbolic of stimulation, strength and endurance and the color yellow represents intellect.
The pentacle has five points that are enclosed by a circle. The 5 points are connected to his elements: his spirit, his ambition-earth, his thoughts-air, his emotions-water, and his actions-fire. The circle that encloses his elements signifies that all his elements are protected from a higher source and his spirit.
I learned about the pentacles when I had a spiritual vision that taught me about the meaning of the pentacle. The outer circle of the pentacle represents your personal protection bubble, and in my vision, I was shown that I needed to protect all my elements: my mind, my actions, my emotions, my ambition, and my spirit. All my elements needed to be protected because I was going to go through phases when I would be tested by myself and by other people that did not have my best interests in their heart.
I learned that when you’re in tune and receptive, you’ll become sensitive to everything around you, and you’ll soak up the positive and negative energies like a sponge. When you’re affected with negative energies looming around you, they become lodged in your thoughts, and the negative energies start to affect your thoughts, your actions, your emotions, your ambitions, and your spirit.
Poseidon’s pentacle crown represents that he’ll be an ambitious ruler, in control of his environment, surroundings, and all his elements. Poseidon crown also represents the qualities of his dedication, courage, intuition, intelligence, his spirit and a higher source. The purple grapes represent the color of royalty and his harvest of fortune, the green mountains and grapevine leaves represent the growth he’ll achieve as the ruler of the seas, but the grapevine leaves also represent hormones and health, something I learned in another spiritual vision. The shark fin represents a metaphor that describe Poseidon’s personality: he is hesitant, nervous, and edgy, doubts others, senses troubling situations, has a temper and is ruthless when provoked. The rocks represent that he is grounded with his morals and beliefs.
The Energies Of The Pentacles
The Pentacles tend to think with their head and are very slow to make decisions, but they are ambitious and disciplined to realize their personal dreams and will not compromise their values and self-worth. They are slow movers and will not react until they are sure because they do not like change or taking risks. The Pentacles are connected to the material aspects of life, including your finances, possessions, accomplishments, career, home, and what you desire to have or what you have acquired. The Pentacles desire to feel secure, and they are big achievers that will not stop until they have reached their goals. The negative qualities of the Pentacles represent that they cannot be told what to do and they do not like to compromise. They are stubborn and must live by their own set of morals and values. They only see the solution to problems through their eyes and not the eyes of others.
My Interpretation Of The Ace Of Pentacles
The Ace of pentacles is the controlling card in my Tarot deck. The Ace controls the path and represents a new beginning and new direction that leads you to a long awaited dream of stability, wealth, health, and finding your comfort zone. The Ace of Pentacles also signifies that your fortune will change for the better, a time when you are finally being recognized for all your hard efforts. You may receive a promotion, a raise, a new job, the start a new career, or a new venture. This is the time when you will feel ready to launch a new beginning, and you’ll feel propelled to accomplish your dreams. The Ace of Pentacles is also the beginning stage of your self-confidence. The Ace represents a spiritual awakening, a message that will be revealed to you about an impending life change. This awakening is connected to your financial security and reflects a time of health, prosperity, financial success, and a solid foundation.
The Reverse Meaning Of The Ace Of Pentacles
The “Ace of Pentacles” reversed represents delayed or missed opportunities connected to your health, security and stability. The missed opportunity may be a promotion, new job, health issues, or something connected to your finances that took a turn for the worse.
