sometimes your eyes want to say something-- something peers out from somewhere deep it catches me by surprise always and it always makes me want to say something, more often to reach out and touch you and always, always leaves me wanting to taste some part of you

On being stuck

"Being stuck is a position few of us like. We want something new but cannot let go of the old - old ideas, beliefs, habits, even thoughts. We are out of contact with our own genius. Sometimes we know we are stuck; sometimes we don't. In both cases we have to DO something." : Rush Limbaugh I know a few people [including myself sometimes] who keep wanting to do this or that, to change this or that in their life ... to make this or that change ... people who look back and regret time wasted in this or that endeavor ... and yet, after they bitch and moan, they go back to their routine, back to their little box of misery ... they go back to the places, people and things that are making them miserable and quietly submit to their humdrum existence, to the pain of dissatisfaction ... and continue being unhappy, unfulfilled and dissatisfied--and worse yet, feeling guilty about not doing anything to move forward  ... but God forbid if one were to challenge them ... they would de...

Today's Quote of the Day

Forgiveness is the final form of love. : Reinhold Ni If you hug to yourself any resentment against anybody else, you destroy the bridge by which God would come to you. : Peter Marshal The super power that I would choose would be compassion; because that's what I think it takes to make it through life-an understanding, a give and take. It saves an awful lot of resentment. : Craig T. Nelson

Quotes of the Day

“When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name is safe in their mouth.” ― Jess C. Scott, The Intern “To burn with desire and keep quiet about it is the greatest punishment we can bring on ourselves.” ― Federico García Lorca, Blood Wedding and Yerma “sex is the consolation you have when you can't have love” ― Gabriel García Márquez “Men go to far greater lengths to avoid what they fear than to obtain what they desire.” ― Dan Brown, The Da Vinci Code

Quote of the Day

"If nothing can save us from death, then let love save us from life" : Pablo Neruda

Songing

it's not that I don't no, it's not--really not it's more that can't but to. more, more, much more that I have chosen to not to yet understand that it's beyond me. the constant drum that beats keeps me moving forward, forward yet gravitating to a core. you've lit a spark that burns a fire deep within-- a goal I aim to reach that you have shown-- a road I've grown in ... yes {I admit} in spite of  me.

Changes in the midst ... the tower

Image
The Tower Hi G**. The Tower is our card for today. When I first drew this card, I felt a sense of fear and panic wash over me. The tower brings with it change in a very big way, sudden, and usually at full force! The Tower represents a removal of veils, a breaking down of walls, and a total and complete shift in thinking. To put it simply, the Tower can be compared to going through the eye of the needle, an unloading of attachments, ego, and that which no longer serves. It is a sense of setting free the Infinite Being within and remembering that this material world is the world of illusion, and change is the only constant. It can be scary, until we remember that all of it, everything that happens is moving us in the direction of our greatest good.....we just have to let it! The Tower represents all the walls we have learned to surround ourselves with. They were built to protect, out of fear, and they limit us to the unbounded possibilities that truly exist. The tower al...

Quote of the Day

Immature love says: 'I love you because I need you.' Mature love says 'I need you because I love you.' : Erich Fromm Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible - it cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment, and offer you more joy than any material possession could. : Barbara de Angelis

I like the word sometimes ... it's so non-committal ... it's not always and it's not never ... a loop-hole is built in ... and the funny thing is that sometimes can be most of the time with an hour off here and there to take a rest ... or t could be almost never ... no one is ever the wiser ... well, hopefully the sometimer himself knows the frequency of his sometimes ... like sometimes lately I've been feeling like I did before about everything -- except, of course, I am older and wiser ... like lately sometimes I feel this funny feeling ... feels good, actually ... like I've reconnected ... like I'm in tune again with the whatever it is that we're supposed to be in tune with ... and my body reacts to it ... and sometimes I find myself surprised by these thoughts, actually more feelings or "feeloughts" .. because it's not a feeling and it's a not a thought, it's all combined and the body reacts ... it's like love and desire and ho...

The Star – Pandora’s Box

The Star – Pandora’s Box Hi G--. The path of the Star represents releasing the baleful ghosts and restrictions of the past. With hope and faith, and believing that you are going to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The binding restrictions of the past come to an end… The Story Of Pandora’s Box In Greek mythology, Zeus (the god of the sky, weather patterns, and unexpected thunder bolts) ordered Hephaestus (the god of craftsmanship) to create Pandora (the first woman on Earth). Pandora was given a beautiful container and was told not to open it, but her curiosity impelled her to open the container and go against Zeus. When she opened the container a swarm of dragonflies and insects escaped the container and filled the sky, which by legend would bring sickness and old age, but there was one blessing that lay at the bottom of the container, Elpis (the spirit of hope) which did not fly away! My Interpretation Of The Star Have you ever opened Pandora’s Box and e...

Coincidences

“Coincidences are spiritual puns.” : G. K. Chesterton “Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous.” : Albert Einstein or “Chance is perhaps the pseudonym of God when he does not wish to sign his work.” : Anatole France “There is no such thing as chance; and what seems to us mere accident springs form the deepest source of destiny.” : Friedrich Schiller “Sometimes, perhaps, we are allowed to get lost that we may find the right person to ask directions of.” : Robert Brault “Life is like a game of cards. The hand you are dealt is determinism; the way you play it is free will.” : Jawaharlal Nehru

Quote of the Day

All intimacy is rare -- that's what makes it precious. And it involves the revelation of one's self and the loving gaze upon another's true self (no makeup, no fancy car, no defensive charm, no seduction) -- that's what makes it so damn hard. Intimacy requires honesty and kindness in almost equal measure (a little more kindness, I think), trust and trustworthiness, forgiveness and the capacity to be forgiven . . . It's more than worth it -- just don't let them tell you it's bilss. : Amy Bloom

To Think About Today

Forgiveness is the key to action and freedom. : Hannah Arendt ---     ---     ---     --- The sun will stand as your best man And whistle When you have found the courage To marry forgiveness When you have found the courage to marry Love. : Hafiz of Persia ---     ---     ---     --- I have learned that sometimes ‘sorry’ is not enough. Sometimes you actually have to change. : Claire London ---     ---     ---     --- In order to hold on to thoughts of anger, bitterness, revenge, guilt, and shame, we have to use a lot of energy. : Edwene Gaines

Dark Words Light Words

so sometimes there ideas that grow in your mind ... these ideas sometimes have no reason, and sometimes they have instigators ... so lately I have been observing those around me {too much free time on my hands, one might say} and I have been putting together a frame based on what I have observed, have been told, have heard based on certain stereotypes -- and I'm wondering why some extremes have come up ... there is some truth to what I have heard based on my observations ... for instance, I have been told that certain sub  types like dominants that make them feel fearful or intimidated -- part of their submissive nature to look for a dominant type that can have the potential to be physically and emotionally dominant-- a bully type --that can sometimes translate to potential physical aggression and/or emotional domination  -- basic psychology, or pathology, some might say ... and to some extent I have observed that to be true -- the submissive, by his nature and desire, will su...

Quote of the Day

Destiny has two ways of crushing us - by refusing our wishes and by fulfilling them. : Henri Frederic Amiel

Question To The Powers

to the powers that be i say: hey, you need to stop fucking with me ... what is this all about? sometimes i feel like i have "obsessors"  hanging on to me ... why magnify wants and desires that have no outlet? why shut my eyes out to others around me but this one who doesn't want or desire me and is stuck in his own repetitive cycle? is this a lesson in discipline that I have to learn? learn to control my emotions and desires and re-channel them, re-focus? put my energy in other pursuits? is that the lesson that i need to learn? maybe to not run away but to deal and control? or to not fear but process, filter, sublimate? so i ask for guidance ... what's the answer?

Fears: An Understanding

so just randomly i realized, kind of just popped into my head ... no great discovery, but really an understanding ... the fear {and even discomfort sometimes} we have of how others feel for and about us is really more about how we feel for and about those people ... the fear that we don't understand or want our feelings to come out, to be known ... and so we trap ourselves in endless loops of dissatisfaction and unfulfilled desires ... and we see life pass us by in much the same way a shy child sits by the window to watch other children play

The hell of repeating patterns

Any act often repeated soon forms a habit; and habit allowed, steady gains in strength, At first it may be but as a spider's web, easily broken through, but if not resisted it soon binds us with chains of steel. : Tryon Edwards Human life is full of the play of samskaras - tendencies developed by repeated actions. : Vinoba Bhave The safest road to hell is the gradual one - the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts. : C. S. Lewis I imagine retreating to old patterns, repeating unsatisfying, unfulfilling patterns  -- whether in career, love and relationships, or in our daily life, must bring stagnation to spirit and soul and must leave the heart hungry for a life beyond the imprisoning circle  ... why would one subject oneself to behaviors so destructive to the spirit??

Moving on ...

The goal of spiritual practice is full recovery, and the only thing you need to recover from is a fractured sense of self. : Marianne Williamson Love one another and help others to rise to the higher levels, simply by pouring out love. Love is infectious and the greatest healing energy. : Sai Baba Healing yourself is connected with healing others. : Yoko Ono

The Chariot is a card of victory

Image
Hi G--. The Chariot is a card of victory! A victory over self, over struggle, and a victory in finding what you are looking for. The chariot represents many levels for us. It represents our internal struggle with fear and love and brings to us a hard fought win over fear, allowing us to exist inside the love. Allowing us to remember there is only love. The chariot is also a reminder that there must be balance within. That there are two forces within us, the masculine and the feminine. The charioteer has found the place where they both coexist. She has also found the balance between the spiritual world and the physical world. The war is over and peace rings out filling us with a sense of bliss, joy, and ease. As the seventh card, the chariot represents completion, in one sense, the sense of the path we walk to remember who we truly are: An infinite Being. However, this card also represents the beginning, a new era of conscientiousness, when we act inside of the love, res...

Distance is ...

Once the realization is accepted that even between the closest human beings infinite distances continue, a wonderful living side by side can grow, if they succeed in loving the distance between them which makes it possible for each to see the other whole against the sky. : Rainer Maria Rilke No distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the friendship of those who are thoroughly persuaded of each other's worth. : Robert Southey

light, shadows and other intangibles

Love is something far more than desire for sexual intercourse; it is the principal means of escape from the loneliness which afflicts most men and women throughout the greater part of their lives. : Bertrand Russell At the innermost core of all loneliness is a deep and powerful yearning for union with one's lost self. : Brendan Francis shadows too have their place ... they help us see where light starts and ends ... and sometimes how weak and/or strong that light is ... lately i have been feeling as if a shadow had been lifted, a fog of sorts that had been following me for a while .. it's been a process and even a latest event in my life has made me realize that idea... has solidified the idea that shadows do have their place... but also there are other things that may seem like shadows, i'll call them a presence .. these sometimes, more often than not, can be a good thing ... and there was this presence in my life that i mistook for a shadow (talk about not reading...

Quote of the Day

Our destiny changes with our thought; we shall become what we wish to become, do what we wish to do, when our habitual thought corresponds with our desire. : Orison Swett Marden

Completion: Just a thought

"if you don't take the risk for love, then what do you take it for?" so i recently attended a wedding; it was actually quite romantic. the couple met in high school and were immediately drawn to each other and from best friends became lovers and eleven years later on the day, they got married. during the wedding this young woman went up and made a very simple speech which really touched me. she talked about when you meet the person you know you want to spent the rest of your life with, the person that you can spend hours with locked in a room and not be bored; she talked about how when the one was hungry, the other was always there ready to feed and when the other was down, the one was there ready to provide strength and support ...  when you meet the person that you feel aligned to spiritually, emotionally, intellectually and sexually -- well, you found your life mate, your soul mate, the person who completes you and we should not settle for anything less; and you ha...
