Winter's night prayer

The longest night, dark and silent
Is every night, the winter's dark
The wind waking the oaks with iys chatter
Is like a lullaby for my nesting thoughts

My heartbeat echoes in the shadows
The love that rests deep in my core
While this flesh chases the nightly ghosts --
The spirit's longing for an embrace
Tuned to desires

The night, the night that falls
The night that brings its daily dread
If only I could turn the night into a dream
To find myself rocked by your breath
