The Gatekeeper of Hidden Things

Hi G***.

You arrive at the path of the gatekeeper of hidden things.

The Moon represents illusion, mystery, dreams, lies, deceit and confusion.

The Moon, closest astrological body to Earth, strongly affects emotions. As it moves rapidly through the zodiac, the Moon phases affect each zodiac sign differently.

The Major Arcana Represents Major Life Lessons: If the Moon comes out on the first card of your reading in the positive position, you might make a mistake because you are not seeing your situation clearly. You need to remember... with the Moon appearing in your reading, nothing is what it seems to be! You need to pay attention to your dreams because they represent important messages. If the Moon shows up in the outcome of the reading in a positive position, you should not act on anything without thinking it through. You may feel tempted to do something you will regret, something representing a danger because your mind and intuition might be tricking you. You might follow through with something you want to do and make a mistake! The Moon also represents your hidden fears and feelings you do not acknowledge.
The Story About Hecate
In Greek Mythology, you meet Hecate, the Triple Moon Goddess. She represents the three stages of life, and the three phases of the Moon. Hecate's mother was Asteria (star goddess of dreams, astrology, and necromancy) and her father was Perses (god of destruction).
Hecate was associated with the night, magic, witchcraft, ghosts, and necromancy (communicating with the dead, foretelling the future, discovering what was hidden). As gatekeeper of hidden things, she brings out the light in the dark places of your life. Through dreams she lets you examine hidden treasures locked away in your unconscious.
In Mythic Tarot, you see a woman who has three faces, a representation of the three stages of life. Some legends say that Hecate was able to turn herself into a young maiden during the Waxing Moon (1st life stage), a mother during the Full Moon (2nd life stage), and an old crone during the Waning Moon (3rd life stage).
Hecate's silver hair shows that she is a wise, mature woman, the older crone, accompanied by a dog with three heads (Cerberus). The dog represents the loyal guardian who helps her guard the gates at the three crossroads so she can see in all three directions at once (past, present, future).
The crab represents dreams and something that is hidden, but is also a symbol of self-deception or the dishonesty of another person who needs to own up to something. The dark sky indicates that something hidden or lurking in the darkness will be revealed to you when you tune into your dreams. Your dreams present the guidance that will allow you to navigate through the confusion.
When the Moon comes out in your reading, it suggests that you may feel confused about your situation. You may find yourself standing at the crossroads, indecisive. Now is the time you should call upon Hecate, the wiser you, to delve into your unconscious through your dreams and release what is hidden. In doing so, you will bring the light into your situation and banish the darkness and confusion.

My Interpretation Of The Moon
The Moon is a scary card that represents fear and worry. The Moon projects fear into the present and future because of your past ordeals. The Moon is symbolic of illusion and your imagination running wild, which may induce you to commit an error in judgment.
The Moon will awaken deep memories from the past and release them into the present, causing you to wonder why the past is resurfacing. This will be a time in your life when you plunge deep into your unconscious to start unearthing all your past anxieties, fears, and blocks in order to heal your spirit and bring an end to the nightmares and confusion forever.
The Moon may bring out a new haunting awareness of an uncanny attraction that led you to mistakenly take a chance that ended in nightmare. The Moon will try to trick you into reliving the past during a time when you lack clarity, when your emotions are as changeable as the Moon itself.
The Moon also represents people who will mislead, trick, and lie to you. When the Moon appears in a reading, question your motives and the people around you because there may be an uncertainty about that person or a decision that you need to make. If you feel uncertain, this is a sign not to make any decisions because you cannot see situations or people clearly.
You might be scared of losing again, fearful of another mistake. The Moon will bring out this fear, evoking the need for courage to provide the clarity you need to make the right decisions. The Moon compels one to face fears in order to move forward.
Positive Position: The positive position of this card seems like an oxymoron, but this position is telling you to slam on the brakes because all is not what it seems to be and you need to examine your situation carefully! Are you experiencing an illusion, fear, a mystery, lies, or a time of confusion, anxiety and feeling insecure? Your mind, or someone else might be tricking you. All is not what it seems and you should not follow through until you are sure.
Negative Position: You cannot understand the hidden secrets related to your situation. You experience self-deception, illusion, vivid dreams, fears and anxiety. You are lost in the fog, confused, very unhappy, and cannot make good decisions. You might make a mistake if you follow through with what you intend to do! You need to slam on the breaks until you figure everything out. Your dreams will provide important clues to understanding what is really bothering you.
Timing is 1 – 30 days or related to the phases of the Moon.
New Moon or Solar Eclipse (not visible, making a wish and starting a new plan). First Quarter Moon (growing in size, action oriented, pushing ahead to a testing point). Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse (wishes come true, or the release of what is not working). Third Quarter Moon (shrinking in size, strong beliefs of what you want – acting on these beliefs or releasing what binds you).
