what it is and what is ins't

it isn't solace from loneliness, no
nor the lust that burns the loins
the passing of the empty hour
nor the wistful longing for a sentiment

it's more a dream that works itself into our wakefulness
the effortless joining of the familiar
the desires that burn the spirit
the energy that brings hearts together

the intrinsic force that edifies
and calls bodies together
the hunger of the body beyond hunger
the ghosts that haunt our thoughts.
